Why I Write by Author Denise N. Fyffe

I watched a video by renowned author J.K. Rowling, and I believe that she gets what many authors, like myself, are going through.

She was speaking the Harvard University Commencement and her speech was about failure and I could tell that she lived exactly what I am now going through.

To have that similarity and to hear my thoughts from someone else is a great motivator. As such, it inspired me to share 30 posts about the 30 books, which I have published.

Then I began thinking, searching …

Over the last month, I have come to the full realization and acceptance that I am different. I cannot sit idly by, because I have been given a gift; and I won’t waste it. Every bit of information, research – everything – God has put in this head will benefit someone else.

I am going to write about it.

When I reached 25 books, my next goal was 30. But, I conquered 30 books so easily, my next target was 100 books by 2018. However, I took a one-year sabbatical. That one year turned into three. I needed to recalibrate and analyze my motives, my messages, my purpose.

So, calibration is in session.

I want to encourage someone else, to never settle for mediocrity. And remember, only you know what that level is. If you are given a gift to aim HIGH and THINK BIG, then do so.

There are many things that I can do – many abilities, talents, skills, and interests. I get bored easily; therefore, it is not in my genes to settle for just writing one book a year or writing for writing sake. Neither should you – as a writer – settle for this idle.

I encourage you, stop, think and reassess your life. It might be what you need to level you up for greatness.

Suicide often occurs because someone feels trapped in a world of constant despair. Suicidal tendencies are often triggered by stress, trauma, bullying, unemployment, relationship issues, gambling problems, chemical imbalance, grief and other factors.

Denise says, “I wrote this book, after suffering from depression. I wanted to tell some of the stories, which many of us overlook, including my own. I wanted to paint a clear picture of the realities that many face in this world. Thankfully, writing aids the healing process. It provides an escape. When I look back sometimes, I see the depth of my despair and hurt. Suicide often occurs because someone feels trapped in a world of constant despair. Suicidal tendencies are often triggered by stress, trauma, bullying, unemployment, relationship issues, gambling problems, chemical imbalance, grief and other factors. Many of the persons who take their lives are considered suffers of a mental disorder; including, but not limited to schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, alcoholism or drug abuse”.

I started writing this free ebook, Declarations for my Sons & Daughters, after contemplating the life that I wanted for my children. In a world such as this, we cannot leave anything to chance. I want my children to come into an intimate relationship with God and not have to struggle for it. All else are their rightful inheritance.

Many of us, especially of African descent, have been robbed of our earthly inheritance. We have all been robbed of our spiritual inheritance. But, it is not God’s will for us to remain in that state. I invite you to frequently declare these statements over the lives of your children, born and yet to be born.
